Now I realize that apple crisp isn't the healthiest treat that I could share with you. But, I have a sweet tooth, and I am a firm believer in being able to indulge sometimes. And if you are going to indulge, what's better than sinking your teeth into some freshly cooked apples and crunchy oats?

Ingredients:

6 Apples, Cored and Peeled

3/4 Cup Raw Uncooked Old Fashioned Oats

1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour

1 Cup Brown Sugar

1 Tsp Vanilla

1/2 Tsp Ground Nutmeg

1 Tsp Cinnamon

1 Stick of Butter

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a baking dish with cooking spray. Slice apples and lay in baking dish. Mix together the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and oats. Add in vanilla, and blend in cold butter with a form to make a crumble. Sprinkle crumble over sliced apples and bake 30-35 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for about 5 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce if desired. Happy eating!
